Lilley to Warden then Galley Hill and back to Lilley

by

This is a short walk from and ending in Lilley, where you can celebrate the end of the walk with a swift half in the Arms.

This walk takes you along narrow and wide lanes both leafy and open across fields there is only a couple of hilly parts but these gentle hills rewards you with views across Luton and Bedfordshire.  There are a couple of Neolithic sites visible and many more that are nearby, but now ploughed into the fields.

The major features in the area are Dray’s Ditches (Earthworks) and round barrows on Galley Hill, unfortunately the massive long barrow near the NW edge of the golf course is no long visible lost due to farming and the creation of the gold course.
