During the late spring of 2017 we walked the West Highland Way.
This is a long distance foot path and probably one of the greatest walks in the UK. We walked this over seven days spending the evenings at B&B’s (well at my age you need your comfort)
The seven stages we took are click on the links to see images and the maps
Day 1 Milngavie, walk to Drymen.
Day 2 Drymen to Milarrochy.
Day 3 Milarrochy to Beinglas Farm Campsite
Day 4 Beinglas Farm Campsite to County Boundary outside Tyndrum
Day 5 County Boundary outside Tyndrum to Kingshouse
Day 6 Kingshouse to Kinlochleven
Day 7 Kinlochleven to Fort William
West Highland Way in 7 walks
Mouseover then click on the map to link to the different stages
Although the whole walk is fantastic the three standout days are the walks along Loch Lomond and the two days walking from Kingshouse to Fort William
If you are thinking of doing a weekend walk I would recommend staying near or around Glencoe then walking the Kingshouse to Fort William over two days and if you have the energy or want to make a long weekend of it take an amble up Ben Nevis or if you have already walked Ben Nevis take a hike up the Hidden Valley in Glencoe this is a fantastic walk with many different options dependent on stamina from a short there and back walk to a more demanding circular route that takes in several of the peaks around Glencoe.
The walk from Drymen to Rowardennan or shorter walk to Milarrochy again make a weekend of it and take a walk up Benlomond to take in the views
